Bot:bit the DIY car
Updated: Feb 1
Ever wanted to build your own car?
Take it from one who actually has done so, it is a great experience that will inspire and a fantastic opportunity to learn.
- Steinar Holøs, CEO and co-founder of MakeKit
The Bot:bit is an additional project to the Wonder:Kit SYSTEM, allowing the kits to build their own micro:bit car. Either using the sustainable wood template that comes in the add-on pack, or using alternative construction that the students can make using milk cartons, boxes, or any packaging. Students can also make their own construction using a Cad tool and a 3D printer or Lasercutter.
Bot:bit works from 4. grade and up, providing understanding and achievement in STEM / STEAM subjects.

In these two videos, you can see how to code and build the Bot:bit.
Part 1: How to code and build using a cardboard box.
Part 2: How to build using the wooden template.
Now you can add the Bot:bit to your curriculum and give your students a challenge-based education that inspires, provide meaning and give them a sense of achievement.
The micro:bit car Bot:bit is made from sustainable materials, designed and produced in Norway.
