Why we believe in what we do
MakeKit was started by Henning Pedersen and Steinar Holøs. Both have a genuine interest in technology and passionate about making education relevant, interesting and inspiring.
It all started with Makeadrone, and by Henning Pedersen. He wanted everyone to experience the joy of building your own drone. In 2018 Henning and Steinar found that they together can use this foundation to make a difference in educational kits. They teamed up and founded MakeKit in 2019 with a goal of creating maker friendly kits for education.
The first kit to be launched was the Air:bit in the fall of 2019, and it was a huge success as the worlds first and only micro:bit drone. Air:bit is one of the most advanced and exciting kits for the micro:bit to this day.
"We were lucky to find our passion for technology and the art of creating. If you are that lucky that you have parents or a teacher who are genuinely interested in the topic, chances are good that you will be introduced to the world of technology. But this is not the case for most people.
Technology is all around us and becomes increasingly important, but also less accessible and harder to understand. Technology becomes smaller and less accessible. The understanding of technology is the skills and knowledge of the 21. century.
In MakeKit we make these skills accessible in an engaging and relevant package."
- Steinar Holøs, CEO and Founder
"We make products that are easy to start using for both children, parents and teachers. Technology and creative arts are more important than ever. And in the future, these skills will be even more valuable.
Our products will give everyone a great introduction and enable the development of the skills necessary in the society of the future."
- Steinar Holøs, CEO and Founder

The core of MakeKit
Make
We are all makers, it is a great way to experience new things, to learn, and to build confidence.
Everything from attaching electrical wires, coding, using hand-held tools, or modern tools like 3D-printing, builds up the confidence and knowledge of what can be achieved.
Play
To have fun is at the core of all our kits. It is the very essence of why we do what we do.
Making something exciting that gives you and all who try a smile.
Learn
We all know that when we have fun, we learn a lot faster. Great experiences also keep the knowledge stick. We implement this learning philosophy in everything we do.
